Pen Tester at Sveriges Radio

Sveriges Radio has high ambitions regarding cybersecurity and wants to do what it takes to strengthen its capabilities in this area. This is based on the core mission that makes Sveriges Radio an important part of the total defense and Sweden's democratic society in everyday life, crisis, and war. The global situation has changed in recent years with an increased threat landscape, which has significantly raised the need to improve both proactive and reactive protection of digital assets, information, and technical solutions. This is to maintain the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of services, data, and users.

Sveriges Radio is now looking for a Pen Tester who wants to help build and develop our ability to identify vulnerabilities and enhance the security level throughout the organization.

The Position and Responsibilities

With us, you will be part of a competent team of six experienced IT security experts within the Cybersecurity department. Together, we drive the ongoing cybersecurity work – but your role will be to take special responsibility for our penetration testing.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Shaping the structure for penetration testing – from needs analysis to delivery – in close collaboration with the business.
  • Conducting penetration tests of web applications, APIs, infrastructure, and cloud environments.
  • Writing clear and audience-adapted reports – both technical and for decision-makers.
  • Collaborating with development teams to enhance overall security capability.
  • Supporting developers in writing secure code and contributing activities that strengthen the secure coding area.

We are looking for you

We are looking for someone with a strong drive to understand how things work – and how they can be misused. A genuine interest in offensive security and comfort in the role of both advisor and problem solver is expected.

You enjoy being the one who explains and anchors security issues, and you have the ability to translate technical vulnerabilities into concrete improvements together with the development teams. The role requires you to have drive, curiosity, and a pedagogical approach, where you actively help the organization work more securely.

You also have:

  • Solid IT technical competence obtained through education or experience.
  • At least two years of work experience in penetration testing.
  • Good knowledge of OWASP and experience with tools such as Burp Suite, Wireshark, and Hashcat.
  • The ability to write reports that are both technically sharp and easy to understand.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in the field, such as OSCP, OSCE, OSEP, GPEN, or GIAC.
  • Experience with scripting in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Experience in DevOps environments and how security is integrated into modern development workflows.
  • A genuine interest in the free press and its role in a democratic society.

We offer

Working at Sveriges Radio means being part of a creative and stimulating workplace where you have the opportunity to use and develop your skills. We provide space to shape your role and offer a varied and important job with the support of engaged managers and an organization that takes cybersecurity seriously. At the same time, we value balance and a sustainable work life. Therefore, we offer good opportunities for professional development, wellness programs, and other initiatives that promote well-being.

Application

The application deadline is January 13, 2026.

At Sveriges Radio, employees with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives come together – something we see as a prerequisite for creating content that is relevant, credible, and accessible to the entire society. To continue broadening our perspectives and developing as an organization, we see each recruitment as a chance to grow. We welcome everyone to apply for our positions – but particularly encourage women to apply for this role, as we currently have an overrepresentation of men in the IT unit.
